​Art classes are  held at the MAC House at  7743 Church Street - unless otherwise noted.

Pre-payment is required.  Class size is limited based upon the course.  Please register early!

Cardinal Mosaic with Kristi Duckworth

Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 10:00 am - 12:00 pm


Join Kristi Duckworth as she guides you in creating a Mosaic Cardinal wall hanging out of vitreous glass, ceramic tile, and safety glass on wood. It will make your walls sing! Students will cut, grind, and adhere mosaic to wood. After your work has dried, Kristi will grout/finish mosaic. Students can pick-up finished product the next week. Finished piece is approximately 5x7.

Course fee is $25 per student.  Supplies are included.  Pre-registration is required. Class size is limited - so register early!

Custom Wood Cross

Saturday, March 10th, 2018 10:00 am -12:30 pm


Join Ginny Smith of Precious Annabella as she guides you to paint a custom wood cross 16 inches in diameter. Use your choice of spring colors and decorative center pieces to create a unique one-of-a-kind cross. Finished pieces are great for wall art or as a door hanger. Ginny will teach different techniques - such as a distressed look or polka dots.

Pillowcase Construction with Kristen Bacon

Saturday, March 17th, 2018 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Kristen Bacon as she guides you to make a fancy pillowcase. with french seams. Students will select and purchase three different fabrics to construct their pillowcase. 

Student supplies needed include : Sewiing machine, coordinating thread, scissors, pins, 3/4 yard for body of pillowcase, 11 inches of fabric (44/45 inch wide fabric) for cuff, and 2 inch wide fabric (44/45 inches wide) for third coordinating fabric.

Ages 10 and up.  Course fee is $15.00 for non-members and $12.50 for members. Pre-pay for this course to reserve your space. Space is limited so register early.​.

Paper Piecing Class with Sharon Jasper

Saturday, March 24th, 2018 10:00 am - 4:00 pm


Join Sharon Jasper for a day of paper piecing basics.   In this class you will learn to paper piece by making a beautiful 12 ” Star block. Paper piecing allows us to
make very accurate blocks and sew points that are not possible with
other methods. This technique has many applications in quilting and
can be used to make striking quilts. Join us in class to learn all the
tricks.

DSLR Photography with Amanda Moreno

Sunday, March 18th, 2018 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm


This course will introduce basic photography concepts including: history, light, color, and composition. This course will explore the functions of a DSLR camera including: automatic, aperture, and shutter priority settings, and manual settings. In addition, the instructor will discuss the light triad: ISO, aperture and shutter speed and will also begin exploring lens choices and how they affect the photograph.

Includes about one hour of lecture and one hour of exercises. Students should bring a DSLR camera, charged battery, memory card and the manual.

Portrait Photography with Amanda Moreno

Sunday, April 15th, 2018 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm


This course will focus on improving portraits through the use of posing, composition, lighting, and camera settings and lenses. Additionally, this course will discuss shooting groups of people for formal portraits. 

Includes about one hour of lecture and one hour of exercises with models. Students should bring a DSLR camera, charged battery, memory card.

Intro to Photoshop for Photographers with Amanda Moreno

Sunday, May 6th, 2018 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm


This course will review basic darkroom style editing tools in Photoshop including: lightening/darkening, saturation, sharpening, and basic blemish retouching. This course will include demonstrations, but students should bring a laptop with any version of Photoshop installed to participate in guided editing. Images for guided editing will be provided via online download the day before the class. 2 hours.

Themed Studio Style Workshop with Amanda Moreno

Sunday, May 20th, 2018 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This course will include multiple themed studio set-ups with models using both natural and studio lighting.  After a brief introduction, students will rotate through different sets.  At the end of the course, students will review their images.  Students should bring a DSLR camera, charged battery, and memory card.  2 hours.
